Nokia Lumia 900

"Nokia? Aren't they that company that makes flip phones? I remember my first Nokia! I could play snake on it!" Oh Nokia... your fall from grace has been incredible. At one point you were the top of the world and now you're... well... the quote above pretty much sums it up. Sure, Europeans love your Symbian operating system. Sure, you probably sell lots of those phones to blond-haired, blue-eyed Fins across Scandinavia. But the truth is, I live in the United States - a land where you've been missing (but not necessarily "missed") for years. We've replaced you with iPhones, Samsungs, HTC's, LG's, ZTE's, Pantechs, Motorolas, and even Blackberrys. You've become unnecessary to us.

But you'd like to change that wouldn't you? You've really gone all out this time too. You've partnered with a company that you believe (and I honestly hope) has a really good chance of succeeding as the next big operating system for smartphones. I can't say I blame you. Symbian didn't do well, but Windows Phone!? Heck yes! It's easy to use and it's unique! I'd have fallen in love too. I worry though, since you're not the only company making Windows Phones. How are you going to stand out from the crowd? (Reader, you can find out by reading the full review).

Want the best photo editing app you can get for a phone? You'll probably have to pay a lot of money for it. Want a really stinkin' good one for free? Instagram is your guy. Besides the fact that they were recently bought by Facebook, they've had over 15 million downloads on iOS alone. I know TONS of people who have this app and I'd still never used it going into the review. So what did I end up thinking of this free, photo enhancing app for Android and iPhone? Find out in my full review after the break...

Emoji is a great way to add a little flare to your text messages, emails, and anything else typed on your iPhone. Emoji is a series of symbols, smiley faces, animals, special characters, etc... Besides just being fun, it's a great way to show emotion and ensure your message is received by the person you're sending it to in the way you intended for them to read it. Example: how many times have you sent a sarcastic message using text messaging and the other person thought you were being serious? But throw a little smiley face in there and you're intentions are now clear - you were joking! This app is a lot of fun and pretty straight-forward so I won't go too far in-depth, but tap the picture above for some screenshots. Have fun!

GO Launcher EX

GO Launcher is another example of a clear Android advantage. This app, available for free in the Play Store (formerly the Android Market) brings the ability to customize your phone to a whole new level. Instead of only being able to change things like the lock screen, wallpaper, or widgets displayed, you can change the over-all theme of your phone. As the screen-shot above shows, it's more than just a slight color change: it's a full-out make-over for your phone. Express yourself with another Android advantage!

Garmin GTU-10 GPS Tracking Device

We just got a new dog! We're very excited to have her. It wasn't without angst though. In under a day we lost her. I was getting her out of the car and as soon as I opened the door, Purna, our dog, sprang out of the back seat and ran off. Here's where it gets interesting. When we originally got her, she was fresh out of active training for sled racing. She's an Alaskan Husky. She's strong. She's fit. She can run for miles and miles a day (she was retired because she started to "lose stamina" at a mere 20 miles). As soon as she realized she was free, she was gone. And our epic saga starts. Read on for more...

Star Walk

This app has been around for a while, and it's finally making a debut on my website! Star Walk for iOS is the not-so-equal equivalent of Google Sky Map for Android. Star Walk is a beautiful application that helps you identify stars, connect consolations, find planets, track the moon phases, and know when the sun is rising and setting. It's like taking an animated tour through the stars (a "star walk," maybe?). Read my full review for a visual tour and a full walk-through of Star Walk for iPhone and iPad.

WeatherBug is the first weather app I ever downloaded. I originally downloaded it because my co-worker told me to and since then I've tried other weather apps and none of them prove to be better or more consistent than WeatherBug. When I decided to do a weather app review, I figured I'd go out and try  a few other apps and compare them. While doing this I only affirmed one thing - my co-worker was right. WeatherBug is the best. Read on to find out why.
